Warren, of Salem passed away peacefully on Friday July 30th 2010 with his family at his side. He was born on December 30, 1925 to John and Anna of Mt. Angel, Oregon. Warren was the middle child of a large family of 13 children. He attended Grassy Pond School in Mt. Angel. When he was the young age of 14, his father John passed away. Warren took it upon himself to work the family farm. Several years later, he began his career as a Journeyman Carpenter and eventually became the Lead Supervisor. His quality craftsmanship can be seen today at The Salem Armory, Willamette University Stadium, The Agriculture Building and several dormitory buildings at Western Oregon State University. Before his carpentry career was over, Warren and his wife Mary Lou began purchasing, building and maintaining rental properties in the Salem area.
On November 29th 1947 Warren married the love of his live, Mary Lou Carroll at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Salem. They lived the majority of their life on the same rural property in the home that Warren finished building in 1966. They were privileged to bring six children into the world and raised them in Salem. His pride was teaching his children to do the right thing, work hard and smart and to be proud of their accomplishments big or small.
Warren was a man of integrity and faith, one who had an enormous amount of empathy for people. He regularly would help anyone who was in need without expecting anything in return. He was humble and gentle in nature and will sorely be missed by all. Warren also enjoyed attending church, fishing, gardening, RV travels, and spending time with his family and loved ones. He especially loved Oregon for its sights and experiences often spending time at the Oregon Coast and Central Oregon. He loved to tell stories of growing up and working as a young kid plowing the fields with horses and picking hops by hand with his family at their farm in the Mt. Angel area.
