SALEM – Bud passed away Tuesday, January 13 at 1:30 PM. He was born October 12, 1925 in a small resort town in Minnesota. He moved to Westwood, California at the age of 15. There he met his wife and love of his life, Elderene of 47 years. In 1956, they moved to Baker, Oregon. He was an insurance adjuster for the G.A.B. In 1964, they moved to Salem where he worked as a partner for Western Claims service. Finally in 1975, he started his own business as Bud’s Appraisal Service until he retired.
Bud loved hunting, fishing, camping and just being with family and friends. He also enjoyed playing drums in a band at the Senior Center. He was preceded in death by his wife Elderene, two brothers, Frebert and Jack, two sisters, Toots Johnson and Dolly Borden. He is survived by one brother, Mickey, one daughter Sherry Chadwick-Offord and Lynn Offord, one son, Rhon and Debbie. He has four grandchildren, Ed Chadwick, Michael Chadwick of Texas, Lacey Meier-Calkins of San Diego, California and D.J. Meier of McMinnville, Oregon. He also has seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by long time companion of 17 years, Louise Bright.
A memorial service for Bud will be at 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 24 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 4663 Lancaster Drive NE, Salem, Oregon. Those who wish may contribute to Redeemer Lutheran Church. Arrangements by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
