Salem-V. Rowene Caughell passed away on June 6 at the age of 74. She was born on September 13, 1935 in Cottage Grove, Oregon to Frank and Gladys (Isham) Miller. “Ro”, as she was affectionately known, was raised in and graduated from high school in Cottage Grove.

 

In 1959, Ro came to Salem where she worked for Earl Bourland. She joined Curry, Kropp and Cates in 1968 where she was a secretary and office manager. 

 

Ro married John Caughell in 1979. She enjoyed traveling, spending time in her flower garden, watching the birds and reading local authors. She loved her family and treasured the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. Ro is survived by her husband John of Salem; son John (Jeri) Moeller and daughter Carol Visto, all of Salem; stepdaughter Julie (Dan) Rush of Ridgefield, WA. And stepson Jeff Caughell of Salem; sister Alyce Huff of Sherwood; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

 

Those who wish may contribute to the charity of their choice in her name. A celebration of Life services will be held at 11 am on June 18. Arrangements by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
