Tom was born in Salem, son of Richard and Lillian (Riggs) Harrison.
Tom is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dona (Henderson) Harrison, daughter Rebecca, son Stacey, four Grand children - Calypso, Cicily, Danielle, and Gregory, and sister Vivian.
Tom was raised on a farm outside of Gervais, Oregon where he graduated Gervais High and played on the varsity basketball team.
Tom enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving his country from 1946 to 1949. He attended Oregon State University, graduating with a Bachelors degree in Agriculture in 1953. Tom worked for and retired from, the State of Oregon Department of Agriculture where he was employed as an Agronomist.
Tom was an avid hunter and fisherman, loving to spend time exploring Oregon’s woods and fishing on Oregon’s lakes and coast with family and friends. Tom and Dona enjoyed square dancing together and were members of the Capital 8’s square dance club in Salem, Oregon. After retiring, Tom researched the genealogy of his family tree tracing family roots back to his English ancestors. Tom and Dona spent much of their retirement years traveling across the US, Canada, England, and Scotland.
