After a 9 year courageous battle with cancer, Thomas D. Uselman passed away peacefully at home in the presence of loved ones.
Tom was born in La Jolla, California and grew up in Silverton, Oregon. He dedicated over 30 years of his career at the Statesman Journal Newspaper as a journeyman printer.
He is survived by his wife, Georgia, 5 brothers and sisters, 9 children; Lori Olds(Lorenzo), Connie Erickson, Donald Uselman(Wendi), Marci Uselman, Mollie Uselman, Brent Jones(Junko), Gregory Jones(Yolanda), Denise Otsuko and Kellene Cano, 22 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
In his later years, Tom enjoyed working beside his son, Don, baking pies at Whites Restaurant in Salem, Oregon. He liked going on long car rides, cutting firewood, landscaping and spending time with family and friends. His dog, Butter, was his constant companion.
We love you Dad, husband, brother, Grandpa, uncle, friend. You will be greatly missed.
Services will be held at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1410 Pine St. in Silverton, OR at 11 am Saturday, September 19, 2009. Family and friends are invited to gather immediately following the service. There will be a private family internment. In lieu of flowers, Contributions can be made to Willamette Valley Hospice.
