Salem-Ruby passed away on Saturday, January 9th after a courageous battle with Lung Cancer.
She was born on October 31, 1947 in Sutter Creek, California to Judith Grace and Otis Dee Walker. Her family moved to Oregon in 1960. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1964. She met and married Donald Davis in September 1966. They were blessed with three children, Dawn (Roy) Satter, DeeAnna (Ricardo) Ramirez and Brian (Angela) Davis.
She worked at Fairview Training Center from 1982 until 1999, first as a caregiver and then as a Cottage Manager, retiring from the State of Oregon in 2003. She most recently worked for Partnerships in Community Living as a Service Coordinator. She dedicated her life to serving people with Developmental Disabilities.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Donald, and her parents. She is survived by her children; her sisters, Judi Harrell of Salem, Yvonne Collins of Astoria and Lila Robertston of Charlottesville, Virginia; grandchildren Curt and Allyson Satter, Jordan Davis, Gavin Dufault and Leila Tullos; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, today, Tuesday, January 12th at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service. A Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 13th at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Salem. Interment will take place at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 15th at Belcrest Memorial Park.
