Salem- Robert William Smith was born on March 22, 1929 in Los Angeles, California. He passed away on Friday, February 5, 2010 in Salem. He lived in Salem for many years after serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Bob was employed as a metal fabricator at Neilsen Metal Inc. for many years following his discharge from the Army. He loved bird watching, bowling, and sprint auto races, particularly the early hot rods.
He is survived by one sister, two nieces and two great nieces.
Private interment has taken place at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. No services will be held. Arrangements by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service, Salem
