Salem- Robert E. Bill was born January 3, 1941, in Burbank, California to Elsie and Richard Bill. Bob valued education, earning both a B.A. and M.A. from Oregon State and the University of Oregon respectively. While at OSU, he met Judy Swenson. They married on August 8, 1964.

 

Bob served as an officer in the Navy Supply Corps form 1964 to 1970. The family eventually settled in Salem where he was the director of the Mid-Willamette Jobs Council for 20 years. Bob enjoyed golfing, fishing, music, traveling with family and friends, completing puzzles, and sharing ice cream with his best canine friend, Oliver.

 

He is survived by his wife, Judy; daughters, Kirstin of Portland and Erika of Bend; five grandchildren: Aili, Taiji, Shinji, Kaiya and Will; his brothers, Ed of Texas and Larry of California; and four nieces.

 

A Celebration of Life will be held at Salem Golf Course (Rudy’s) on Tuesday, May 19 from 4 to 6 pm. Donations can be made to OSU Dept. of Education or the Salem Concert Band. Arrangements are by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
