Raymond Anthony Kronser of Salem passed away Saturday, May 8, 2010.
Ray was born June 27, 1936, in Roseburg, Oregon, to Herbert and Roberta Kronser. He graduated from North Salem High School. In 1955, Ray enlisted in the Army. In 1956, Ray married Julie Peterson. After his military service ended, they settled in Salem to raise their family. They had four children.
He owned and operated a Shell station in Salem for a number of years; then worked for the state as a weighmaster until he retired. Besides providing for his family, Ray had other interests. For years, he was one of the top bowlers in Salem,
and a member of the Elks. After retirement, Ray became a super-shopper who enjoyed sharing coupon bargains with family and friends.
Ray is survived by his wife, Julie; daughters: Laurie Sensibaugh (Denver) and Mary Beth Phillips (Steve); sons: Keith (Kelly) and Tim; sisters: Margie Rodgers and Janet Burns; brothers: Jerrold, Jim, and Dwaine; and 8 grandchildren; Jered, Kara, Kelsey, Kody, Skyler, Tesalee, Noah and Colton
Ray was generous and hard working. He cared deeply for his family and he will be greatly missed.
A service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service, 605 Commercial ST SE Salem, OR.
