In loving memory

Norman Lindburg
Sept 1928 - July 2009

Norman Lindburg died peacefully at his home in Salem Oregon on July 5th. Born to Edwin and Phyllis Lindburg in Fort Dodge Iowa, Norman moved to Salem as a child and always considered Oregon his home. He married his high school sweetheart, Donna Baker, in 1948. After serving in the Navy as a radioman aboard the USS San Francisco, Norman attended OSU and received a Bachelor’s degree in physics. He returned to the Navy as a weapons officer aboard the USS Essex, after which he and Donna moved to New Jersey where Norman worked as a research engineer for RCA and he and Donna raised three children. After 32 years with RCA Norman retired and the couple returned to Oregon in 1987. They both enjoyed history, becoming active members of the Oregon-California Trails Association and traveling around the country to various historical sites. After Donna’s death in 1997, Norman began volunteering at both the Red Cross and the South Salem Seniors, as well as continuing to enjoy bowling and shooting pool with his friends. Preceded in death by his son Jeffery, Norman is survived by his children Steve Lindburg of Salt Lake City, Anne Trevaskis of Berthoud Colo., Kate Lindburg of Corvallis, and two grandchildren. Visiting will be from 2 pm to 6 pm Friday with services at 11 am on Saturday, all at Virgil T. Golden Service, and interment at Belcrest Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to South Salem Seniors
