Salem- Mildred A. Disbrow was born October 7, 1914, Salem, Or., near Salem Heights, and passed away April 24, 2009. She spent her childhood on Mt. Chehalem near Newberg, Ore., where she attended grade school. She attended high school in Newberg.

 

In December of l941, she married Louis A. Disbrow in Albany, Ore., and lived most of their married life, moving to Salem to be close to their daughter in the early 1960s. Mr. Disbrow passed away in l971.

 

Mildred worked in restaurants, nursing homes and also for a company making catheters. She loved tending her vegetable garden and flowers, reading both fiction and non-fiction.

 

She is survived by her daughter, Helen M. Wilson, Salem, son-in-law, G. LaDon Wilson, grandsons, David L. Wilson, Salem, and Steven L. Wilson, Progresso, Mexico, Great granddaughters Ashley L. Wilson, Point Reyes, Calif., and Megan M. Wilson, Salem, great grandson Michael A. Wilson.

Her parents, Preston Wesley and Effie Lena (Cady) McPherson preceded her in death.

 

Graveside service will be held 1:00pm, Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at City View Cemetery, Salem, Ore,

Memorial contribution may be made to the March of Dimes.
