Salem – Matthew Weisner passed away on August 3, 2009, at the age of 56. He was born on May 10, 1953, the oldest son of Larry & Donna Weisner. He graduated from North Salem High School in 1971 and spent many years working for Keith Brown Lumber Company. Matt found and married the love of his life, WeiXuan Zhu in 1991.

Matt was an avid sportsman in his younger days enjoying baseball, hunting, crab fishing, and bowling. After being slowed by health issues, Matt’s interests turned to gardening and cooking.

Matt is survived by his wife WeiXuan Weisner of Salem; his daughter Ying Zhu Knipe and her husband Kyle of Portland; his son Travis Weisner and his wife Nicole and grandchildren Jacob, Donna, and Travis Jr.; son Larry Weisner and his wife Lynnette and grandson Matthew; his mother Donna Weisner of Salem; sisters Diane Reading (Kim Kaufold), Anne Mulkins and her husband Jerry of Tehachapi, CA; Ruth Hill of Salem, brothers Dan Weisner of Salem, and Rex Weisner and his wife Dee Dee of Salem and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 10, 2009, at Belcrest Mausoleum Chapel, 1295 Browning Ave S, Salem.
