Margaret Wells, “Maggie” to friends, called Salem Oregon home for over 40 years, passed away in her home on Monday August 2nd 2010 at the age of 84.
Born on March 20th 1926 in Los Angeles, California, she was the daughter of William & Margaret.
Married to Eugene Ronkin, she had 5 children. Lorna & Richard, Toni, Howard and Martin, then divorced in 1964. In 1966, she met and married Ernest “Ernie” Wells. Ernie brought 2 daughters into this new family: Nikki & Jeanne.
Maggie was very active in The Masters Swimming Program for the past 30 years. She always had Ernie beside her to encourage her. Unfortunately, Ernie preceded her in death on August 2nd, 2003, exactly seven years previous.
Maggie is survived by her daughters, Lorna, Toni, Nikki and Jeanne. She is also survived by sons, Richard, Howard and Martin. Six Grandchildren: Karen, Candice, Audrey, Andrea, Shannan and Angel. Also surviving her are 3 Great Grandchildren, Alyssa, Joel and Kayla.
Her memorial service will be held on Saturday August 14th @ 2:00PM at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service, located at 605 SE Commercial St. Salem, Oregon.
Flowers will be appreciated. However, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Willamette Valley Hospice will also be gladly accepted.
