The original Lucille Bahl was born the thirteenth child in 1913 in Hays, Kansas. She and her husband of 47 years, Frank moved to Oregon in 1943. In 1978 she retired from the Oregon State Hospital after 23 years of service as a psychiatric aid. In 1966 she started bowling at M & M Bowl, then moved to Eastwood Bowl and Northgate Bowl where she was in two leagues a week until she was 90 years old. She used a 10 lb. ball with a three step approach and said that you have to be stable and limber to participate in the sport.
She is survived by: six children, Cheryl Lentsch, Mary Hudson, Norma Fordyce, Shirley Baxter, Larry Weissbeck, and Joseph Weissbeck. Also 15 grandchildren, her grandson, Steven Fordyce preceded her in death; 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

A memorial mass will be at 10:30AM, Monday April 27, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
