In loving memory

Linda Burling Androes
November 6, 1937 - October 30, 2009

Our mother, our friend, our grandmother, our mentor, how we will miss you. You will always be the light that guides us. You will always be in our hearts.
Linda Mae Erwin was born to Vivian (Croken) and Marshall Erwin in Juneau, Alaska, November 6, 1937. She grew up in Juneau and graduated from Juneau High School in 1955.
Linda met Ed Burling while attending college at Washington State University. They were married in 1956 and had three children: Kathleen, Kristina and Michael. The family moved to Lewiston Idaho where Linda was a stay at home mother. They moved to Salem, Oregon in the early 1970’s. Ed died in 1975.
She married Louis Androes in 1978. They spent their years together in Silverton, Oregon.
Linda was activities director at Chemeketa Community College for eight 8 years in the 1970s-80’s and kept friendships with both students and staff for the remainder of her life.
She was active in her community and the arts and filled her life with love and poetry. Her membership with the Unity church of Salem filled her soul. Linda will be greatly missed. Her legacy is the twinkle in her eye, the dimples of her smile, her joy in living and the unconditional love she so willingly shared with others.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband Ed, her parents and her beloved cousin Gene Erwin.
Survivors include her husband, Lou Androes; children Kathy (Dave) Munsel, Kristy (Peter) Andonian, and Mike (Dana) Burling; step-sons Tim, Karl (Jean) and Scott Androes, and the daughter of her heart Lynn (Gary) McKeon; grandchildren Brandi (Marcos) Garcia, Tony and Matt Sinclair, Jamie, Gregg, and Alisa Andonian and Sarah Burling; grandchildren of her heart Jesse, Meghan, Shea, Zach, Dylan and Dakota; great-grandchildren Hope and Aliyah Garcia and far too many friends to list.
A celebration of life will be held at the Unitarian Church at 4980 Center St., Salem on November 28, 2009. Donations can be made to the Cancer Society.
