Lorene Dee (Bivin) Baker was born May 17, 1926 in Ventura, Calif. To Jo & Delta Bivin. She graduated from Ventura High School in 1944 and subsequently married Robert Child. Divorced in 1951, she went to work for the Southern Calif Gas Co. as a telephone operator. In 1957 Lorene married Russell Laurence (Larry) Baker. In the early 70’s she went to work for Rudkin Motors as a bookkeeper. In her later years she helped to cater meals for Rotary Club luncheons and other events. She was always very active in the Presbyterian Church, which later became Fillmore Bible Church, serving as a Sunday school teacher for the 2 & 3 years olds, deaconess among many other things. In 2002 she moved to Klamath Falls, Ore and on to Salem in 2005, where she was welcomed and become very active in south Salem Nazarene Church. She is survived by her husband Larry, children David Child, The Dallas, Ore, Annalee Taylor, Tuolumne, Calif, Terry Baker and Donald Baker of Salem, Ore and 11 grandchildren.
Contributions may be to the south Salem Church of the Nazarene 1661 Boone Rd S, Salem, Or 97306 where memorial services were held on Monday Nov. 30th. Arrangements were by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
