Albany-Katherine Lucille was born on February 4, 1920 in Drain, Oregon to parents Frank and Louise (Putman) Cunningham and was a direct descendent of Jesse Applegate, early Oregon Pioneer settler. She grew up in Drain and married Edgar Hunt who preceded her in death. They lived in Central Oregon for 50 years where she worked as a LPN in Prineville and Deschutes County. In 1988 she moved to Salem where she resided until 2003 when she moved to Albany to be near her daughters. She was a member of Salem Alliance Church and had served a mission in Odessa, Ukraine. She enjoyed traveling and her family.
Katherine is survived by: her daughters, Marylou Tiede of Lenore, Idaho, Janice Brehm of Salem, Janell Virgin of Albany, Linda Finlayson of Vancouver, Wash., and Judith Gilbertson of Albany; 15 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.
Services will be at 2:00PM on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service with private interment at Redmond Memorial Cemetery. Contributions may be given in her honor to the American Diabetes Association.
