In loving memory

Jill Scott Campbell
November 1, 1940 - April 17, 2009

Jill Scott Campbell passed away April 17, 2009, surrounded by her loving family. Jill, 68, fought a valiant battle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, COPD.
 
She was born in Salem, Oregon to Frances F. and Jack J. Scott. She was raised in West Salem and graduated from South Salem High School where she was a rally squad cheerleader. Jill was an accomplished horsewoman who went on the be the 1959 Queen of the St. Paul Rodeo. She attended Oregon State College and was a member of Alpha Phi sorority. In the 1960’s she was based in Chicago as a United Airlines stewardess. Upon  returning to Salem she became a model and then an instructor for the Cinderella School of Modeling. She hosted for the Salem Chamber of Commerce. Later she became involved in her father’s restaurant operations, Jack J. Scott’s Food Services, located in the State Capitol Building. She continued her restaurant career as an assistant manager for Chelsea’s Restaurant and Bakery. In 1985, she and husband Bob opened The Holly House Restaurant at The Salem Golf Club.
 
Upon retirement Jill became an avid crafter of decorative ornaments which she enjoyed giving to friends. She was generous and classy, right down to her perfectly manicured nails. Later in life her greatest joy was spending time with her granddaughters, Taylor and Maci, who lovingly called her Ma Mo`.
 
Jill is survived by her husband Bob of 39 years, daughter Holly (Shon) Wood, brother Jack H. (Pam) Scott, sister Victoria (Greg) Guerrero, sisters-in-law Pat Campbell (Patrick) Muffler and Teri (Terry) Kay, granddaughters Taylor (9) and Maci (5), seven nieces and nephews, and seven great nieces and nephews.
 
A memorial service for all will be held Friday April 24, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Virgil T. Golden, 605 Commercial St. SE. Immediately following the service please join the family for a celebration of Jill’s life at the home of Jack and Pam Scott.
 
Private internment to follow at a later time. In lieu of flowers, please make  remembrances to The Willamette Valley Humane Society.
