SALEM – Jean L. Morris passed away on September 23, 2009 at the age of 80. She was born April 8, 1929 in Hughesville, New Jersey to Raymond and Mary (Bowman) Hager.

 

            Jean was raised in New Jersey and married Gerald P. Morris on June 28, 1947. They traveled extensively while Gerald served in the military. In 1962, they settled in Springfield, Oregon, where she was a member of the Elks Lodge. Gerald passed away in 1985 and Jean moved to Salem in 1993. She enjoyed being involved with South Salem Seniors, ceramics and sewing.

 

            Jean was preceded in death by her husband Gerald, brother Joe and son in law Jess Jenks. She is survived by four daughters, Judy (Kerry) Morris-Green of Salem, Marcia Morris of Astoria, Elizabeth (Robert) Hagin of Paulsbo, WA. and Nancy Jenks of Portland; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

            A memorial service will be 10:00 AM on Friday, October 2, 2009 at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM at Willamette National Cemetery. Arrangements by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
