SALEM- Jamey Ray Flores passed away on January 3, 2009. He has a very large family including his wife, Tina Flores; five children, daughter, Cassie Flores; son, Aaron Flores; step-son, Christopher Feskens and step-daughters, McKenna and Morgan Feskens. Also surviving are his mother, Rebecca Archer and step-father, Troy Archer; his father, Daniel Flores and step-mother, Nancy Flores, all of Salem. Jamey Ray has eight brothers and two sisters, Daniel Flores, Keith Flores, Jeremy Archer, Jason Flores, Josh Flores, Rick Toquero, Chris Toquero, Joseph Archer, Chrisy Spencer and Heather Archer, all of Salem.
Jamey Ray is with the National Guard in Salem and had the rank of E-4. Jamey had a tour of duty in Iraq in 2003 and was scheduled to deploy again in the near future. Jamey was in the active Army for two years and did a tour in Korea.
Jamey Ray enjoyed the outdoors. Fishing with daughter, Cassie. Working in the yard was always something Jamey found relaxing. Camping and hunting were also something Jamey enjoyed. Jamey and his son, Aaron would take weekly trips downtown to look at the “Budda Stores” and when there was some down time, Jamey liked to be a “Leggo” engineer with all the children. Spending time with his family was very important to him. He was an avid reader and enjoyed quiet time.
Jamey Ray was always there if anyone needed a hand. He was always available (mostly with advice). Jamey Ray was a loving husband, father, son, brother and a wonderful friend to all. He will be greatly missed.
Services will be held Friday, January 9, 2009, at 1:00 pm, in the gym at the Oregon School for the Deaf, 999 Locust St. NE. All are welcome. Arrangements are by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
