Turner- Ed was born in Albany, Oregon. He began working for the Forestry Department in Mollala and retired as State Forester in Salem. He was very instrumental in replanting the Tillamook Burn. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling and gardening. Ed especially loved spending time with his family. He was very active in his church, Trinity United Methodist in Salem. After his retirement he was involved with PERS, Meals on Wheels, until he turned 90, and many other local organizations.

 

Ed is survived by his wife Louise Schroeder; two daughters, Patty (Jerry) Zielinski and Kathy (Jim) Bradbury; three granddaughters, Tammie (Rand) Overton, Barbara (Chuck) Millus, and Johanne (Fred) Lang; 13 great-grandchildren, 13 great, great-grandchildren; brother Darrell (Pat) Schroeder; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his son John Schroeder and granddaughter Lisa Colvin.

 

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church in Salem.

 

A graveside service was held at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 28th at Restlawn Memory Gardens, Salem. Arrangements by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service, Salem.
