Higee Mize, 88, of Salem passed peaceably with loved ones near on Thursday, October 15, 2009.

Higee, the daughter of Archibald and Helen Cates Caldwell was born on July 22, 1921 in Houston, Texas.

 She is survived by her children Troy, Lance, Chris and Marla Mize, a brother; Archie Caldwell of Grass Valley, California, four grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

   Higee was a true shopaholic and worked in retail clothing and cosmetic sales. She was a long time member of the Salem Women’s Business Association and the Salem Military wives.

    Inurnment will be at the Punchbowl military cemetery in Oahu Hawaii where she will join her husband Jerry of more than sixty years. No services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
