Salem - Gerald (Jerry) Weger passed away March 18, 2010 in Salem at age 77. Jerry was born May 22, 1932 in Aberdeen, SD. He moved to Salem, Oregon as a child and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1950. Jerry served in the Army during the Korean War. He retired from Pacific Northwest Bell in 1986 after 36 years of service. Jerry loved to dance and travel and was also an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer.
He was preceded in death by his parents Del and Ruby Weger, sister Norma Schnider (and Ernie). He is survived by his sister Jean Elfstrom; children: Jeff (Roxann), Gary (Kim) and Debra; 9 grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.
Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, March 24th at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service in Salem. The family wishes to thank Brookstone Alzheimer's Special Care in Salem for their service. In lieu of flowers, donations to Alzheimer's Association are preferred in Jerry's memory.
