Gerald (Jerry) Bruce Cramer, 69, of Salem peacefully left his family to join the Lord at 3 a.m. June 3, 2010. Jerry was admitted into Oregon Health & Science University, and passed away due to multiple organ failure. Jerry was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2004, which he bravely fought for six years.

Jerry was born in Corvallis to Dale and Elnore Cramer on Feb. 23, 1941. After attending school in Corvallis, Jerry proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

Jerry worked 18 years in the plywood industry before becoming a truck driver for 28 years. He retired in 2008, trading in his truck for a 36-foot Bounder motor home. He had a great love of camping, cooking, woodworking and family.

Jerry is survived by his spouse of 48 years, Judy Cramer; daughter Lori Erickson; son Jeff Cramer; daughter Tara Kahle; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Jerry was a beloved and devoted husband, father and grandfather; we feel very blessed to have had him in our lives.

A funeral service will take place today at Salem Heights Church, 375 Madrona Ave. S., Salem. Interment will be at Charles Hendrix Memorial Gardens, Alsea.
