Salem – Georgia L. Wineland, 84, passed away Wednesday. Born in Portland, Ore, she married Norris Wineland in 1946 in Forest Grove, Ore. He preceded her in death in 1982. They lived in Valztez, Rickreall, Woodburn and then to Salem in 1977.

She enjoyed knitting, cross word puzzles, loved to fish, was a member of St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and was very active in raising her grandchildren.

She is survived by daughters Jeanne Powell, Nampa, Id, Noreen Wineland, Margaret Schachtsick, both of Salem, Ore, sons: William Wineland, Keizer, Ore, Wayne Wineland, Independence, Ore and Allen Wineland, Washington D.C., fourteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a son Milton Wineland in 2005.

 

A graveside service will be at 3:00 pm Friday April 10th at Belcrest Memorial Park, followed by a Memorial Rosary at 4:30pm at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
