Georgia Judd

SALEM- Georgia Judd died peacefully in her sleep on July 1, 2009 at her home. Born in Washington, Iowa, she moved to Salem in 1943 where she primarily lived until her death. She was a 1958 graduate of South Salem High School and spent her career in retail sales, and for many years owned and operated Willamette Valley Waterbed and Spa in Albany, Ore. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She also had a love for cooking and playing golf. Survivors include her husband, Roger of Salem; a brother, Larry (Barbara) Kyle of Scotts Mills; two sisters, Mary (Tony) Long of Corvallis and Carolyn Bailey of Gresham; a son, Brian Buckingham of Salem; two stepchildren Kelly (Kyle) Roof of Albany and Derron (Alice) Judd of Aiken, S.C.; ten grandchildren, April Star of Virginia Beach, VA, Kory (Jake) Thompson of Stayton, Samantha and Lauren Roof of Albany, and Megan, Emily, Patrick, Nicholas, Brendan and Lillian of Aiken. She was preceded in death by a son, Bret Buckingham and a daughter, Lindy.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday July 9 and Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service, Salem. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Union Gospel Mission of Salem, P.O. Box 431, Salem, OR 97308-0431.
