Turner – George R. Johnston Jr., 86, was born in St. Francis, Kansas. Where he grew up and in 1939 he moved to the West Coast. George served in the U.S. Army in WWII and married Betty Jane Patton on June 24, 1950. He was a supervisor at a lumber mill in Pendleton in 1960 moved to Turner where he was  a supervisor at Burkland Lumber for many years before retiring.
