Salem- Fred Steward Hansen , 67, loving father and grandfather, went to heaven January 26, 2009 at 3:30 a.m.

 

Born to Parley Edward and Nedra Bowen Hansen on March 9, 1941 in Sandy, Utah. He met and married Cordia Kathleen Hunter on October 21, 1959. She preceded him in death February 17, 2007. They lived in Oregon for 20 years.

 

He is survived by 4 children, Lillie Marie (Hansen) and husband Ronald Greenhalgh, Mt. Angel, OR., Danny Joe and wife Debbie Hansen of Virginia Beach, VA., Edward Hansenof Indianapolis, IN., Nedra Ketchem and husband Jordon Verley of Redmond, Or., 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Lynn Hansen of Twin Falls, ID., and Gerald Hansen of West Covina, CA., one sister, Patricia (Patsy) Willis and one brother George W. Hansen preceded him in death along with his parents.

 

He worked for Portland General Electric until 2000, when he was injuried on the job. He was a 40 year member of I.B.E.W. as a Electrical Lineman.

 

Visitation will be today (Thursday) from 4p.m. to 8.pm and funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m.. Friday, January 30, 2009 at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
