Salem – Frank P. “Franjo” Treml passed away Monday, June 8, 2009 a wekk before his 82nd birthday, at Salem Hospital of congestive heart failure. Frank was born in Vukovar, Yugoslavia came to America by ship in 1950, and became a U.S. citizen.
In 1952, Frank married Shirley Reznicsek of Silverton, Ore on June 14th. Frank was formerly in concrete construction and was a home builder. He was the last remaining member of the Joseph and Adela Treml Sr family. A popular accordion player, he played the accordion on the ship coming to America, and played “by ear” for over 70 years.
He is survived by wife Shirley, son Mark Alan, sisters in law, Irene Tolmsoff, Judy Reznicsek, Jeannie Connor, nephew, James “Jim” Treml, various nieces, nephews and cousins.
Service will be held at 10:00 am Monday June 15th (his birthday) at St. Joseph Catholic Church with a reception to follow. Private entombment will be at Belcrest Mausoleum. Donations may be to American Heart Assoc or Diabetes Assoc.
