SALEM – Florence Herriott passed away on December 6, 2009 at the age of 92. She was born August 24, 1917 in Scott City, Kansas to Jacob and Catherine (Landergun) Eikelberger.

 

            Florence was raised in Kansas and married DeWain Herriott in Healy, Kansas in 1939. She earned her teaching degree and retired in 1984 from Washington Elementary School in Salem. Her career spanned 36 years, teaching children in Kansas, Idaho, Roseburg, Grants Pass and Salem.

 

            Florence and DeWain settled in Salem in 1969 and were active members of Judson Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and traveling.

 

            Florence is survived by son David (Diane) Herriott of Silverdale, Washington, daughter Nancy (Mark) Raschko of Salem; grandchildren David Cascade Herriott of Pullman, Washington and Nicole Raschko of Salem; and sister Dorothy Piecuch of Seattle.
