Eva L. Riness Carrell, age 76, died on Tuesday, March 6, 2007, following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on December 12, 1930 in benton Harbor, Michigan to her late parents John and Evelyn Beason. She attended and graduated from Benton Harbor High School. In 1949 she married Alfred C. (Cal) Riness Sr., with whom she had five children. Eva worked for theCheboygan Dialy Tribune in Cheboygan, Michigan, as a proofreader, embracing her love of the printed word. Her later career as a Certified Nursing Assistant was a testimony to her didication to caring for others. After 49 years of marriage, she lost her husband, Cal, to cancer on September 14, 1998. Three years later, Eva met Edward (Ed) Carrell. They wed in a Traditional Native American ceremony in 2005. She lost Ed to cancer on July 6, 2006.
Eva is remembered by her children as a loving mother, with an ability to listen and nuture in times of need. Her gift of love and laughter is remembered and treasured by all who knew her.
She is survied by her children, Alfred C. Riness Jr. and wife Susan Riness of Utah, Linda Riness of Oregon, Gary L. Riness Sr and wife Maureen Riness of Utah, Marsha Bransom of Oregon, Patricia Roller and husband Bruce Roller Sr of Oregon, Larry Carrell and wife CindyCarrell of MOntana, Frank Carrell of Oregon, Janice Willson of Oregon, Phillip Carrell of Montana nad Patricia Carrell of Oregon. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Blunt and husband David Blunt of Oregon as well as motherin law, Beatrice Carrell of Oregon. Eva is further survived by 23 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be Saturday, Marcy 10th at Belcrest Memorial Park.
