Salem- Born Ethel Mae Larson in Roundup, Montana, she lived in and around Billings, Montana until moving to Salem in 1976 to be near family.  She worked as a fashion consultant at LaPointe's until 1985, when she retired. 
 
She enjoyed camping and outdoor activities and being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Gardening was a particular joy to her for her entire life.

Ethel is survived by two daughters, Dianne Simpson and Randie Guntermann, of Salem and a son, Douglas Nelson of Pendleton.  She is also survived by 4 granddaughters and 2 grandsons, 7 great grandchildren and an 8th on the way, as well as a son and daughter-in-law and many friends.  She will be greatly missed.
