In loving memory

Eric Wiliam Scott Craig, MD
October 25, 1934 - September 1, 2011

SALEM – Dr. Craig was born in Portland, Or. to Eric Robin and Rhena E. Craig. Bill grew up in the Portland area, graduating from Oregon City High School in 1953.  After graduating from Oregon State College (Oregon State University) in 1957 Bill served in the U.S. Marines until 1960, attaining the rank of 1st Lt. Also in 1957 he married Marilyn Bona, whom he was married to for 18 years.

After leaving the service Bill pursued his education to become a Doctor of Internal Medicine, graduating from the U of O Medical School in 1968, whereupon he opened his medical practice in Salem.  Dr. Craig practiced medicine for 29 years and loved his practice and his patients. Meanwhile in 1983, he married Betty C. Brown. They retired in 1997.

Bill was an avid fly fisherman and tied his own flies. He also enjoyed golf, gardening, and camping and in later years took up traveling and bird watching. He was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church, the Scottish Rite, Shriners and Masons.

Dr. Bill Craig is survived by his wife, Betty, children Robin (Rick) Craig Schoenberg, William (Lynette) Scott Craig III, John (Lea) Robert Craig, Dan. Brown and Sue (Mark) Duff, sister Muriel Mallory, 16 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents and sister Phyllis Jessup.

Memorial Services will be at 2:00 pm Saturday Sept. 24th at St Paul’s Episcopal Church.

Arrangements are by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
