DAVID WORTH DUGGER
July 14, 1927 - July 8, 2010

Salem - David Worth Dugger, died peacefully on July 8, 2010, at home with his family by his side, in Salem, Oregon, after a long illness. He was born July 14, 1927 in Spokane, Washington to Leighton Leonard and Esther Virginia Dugger. David joined the Army and served in Germany at the 97th General Hospital. He worked in the insurance industry for many years.
 
David had many hobbies, such as cooking  fabulous meals for his family and gardening. He was passionate about his greenhouse, where he nurtured several varieties of orchids. He loved fishing, bow hunting and spending special times on his 36' Chris Craft with his wife, family and friends. David was an amazingly talented artist and an award winning creator of intricately detailed pine needle baskets. He is known to have created the smallest miniature rooms in the world made entirely of wood, and was featured in 'Ripley's Believe It or Not' for the world's smallest violin.
 
 
David was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Patricia Curtis and grandson, Robert Carbary. David is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Virginia (Chris) of Salem, OR; sister, Virginia LeMay of Fresno, CA; daughters, Kathy (Larry) Andersen of Lake Stevens, WA; Dee Dee Hedin of North Bend, WA; Julie Carbary (Terry) of Snohomish, WA; grandchildren, Michael Andersen, Anthony Carbary, Brian Andersen, Travis Hedin, Ryan (Rachael) Carbary, Randy Hedin, Kevin (Megan) Andersen, and Kayla Carbary; great grandchildren Ezra Andersen and Sophia Wolff.
 
There will be a private family gathering. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Serenity Hospice of Portland, OR.
 
Arrangements are by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
