Connie Jean Ranchez was a native Oregonian, born and raised in Salem. She graduated from North Salem High School in l965 and later attended Multnomah School of the Bible. Thereafter, she move to San Francisco where she pursued a career as an officer in the San Francisco PoliceDepartment. Although se loved her work and enjoyed many years with the department, she found herself missing family and returned to Salem.
Connie’s love of travel took her to many places in Europe, including Greece. Her two favorite travel destinations were Scotland and Australia, where she spent many enjoyable months.
Connie loved life and battled her cancer with courage and determination. She was a fighter to the end.
Connie is survived by her sister, Valerie Hammer and her nephews, Sean and Casey Hammer.
Funeral service will be held 2:00PM Friday, May 1, 2009 at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.

Beloved father, husband, and friend to many. Died at Samaritan Albany General Hospital. He was born in Falls City, Oregon, the son of Mary and Thomas Dunlop. He graduated from Dearborn High School in Deerfield, Chicago after the family moved there in 1948.
He is survived by his wife Irene, son Jim, and daughter Jessica, three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and two foster grandchildren, his brother Martin, sisters Catherine and Sarah.
