Salem – Bobbie “Nick” Blankenbaker, age 79, went to be with the Lord on May 11, 2010 at the VA Medical Center in Portland, Oregon. He was born in Inavale, Nebraska on Sept. 3, 1930.
Nick is survived by his three sons; Jack and his wife Teri, Jerry and his wife Candy, Jay and his wife Trish, nine grandchildren, one great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by two sisters, Iva Snider and Jo Colburn.
He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph.
Nick served in the National Guard and U.S. Army. He was a patriotic man and proud to be a United States Veteran.
Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Uncle and Brother. . . We love you and will miss you, but knowing you are now home with the Lord consoles us and gives us peace.

A graveside service will be at 10:00 am Monday May 17th, 2010 at Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, Ore. Arrangements are by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
