Salem – Barbara J. Sackett was born in Bend, Ore to Jennie & Lee Clark, moving to Salem in 1943. She attended Bush, Leslie Junior High School and was in the first graduating class of South Salem High School in 1956. Barbara moved to Seaside, Ore in Sept of 1956 and completed Beauty College.

She married John B. Hunt in Nov. of 1958, and they had two children, Jackie L. Markishtum now of Port Angeles, Wa, and Steven L. Hunt now of Reno, NV.

In July of 1980, she married Ralph E. Sackett in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. Barbara was an instructor/trainer, bus driver for Family Head Start in Salem before retiring in 2000. After retiring she enjoyed spending time with family, friends and traveling to casinos.

She is survived by her husband; Ralph E. Sackett, children; Jackie L. Markishtum and Steven L. Hunt, grandchildren; Aaron and Stephanie Markishtum, great grand daughter Heidi Jo Markishtum, 4 step children, 16 step grandchildren, 12 step great grandchildren, and sister in law Janie Clark. She was preceded in death by her brother Don Clark and her parents.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
