Anita Grace O'Brien passed away on July 7th at the age of 97. She was a resident of Willson House Retirement Center for the last 11 years. Anita was born in Champaign, ILL. Her family moved to Salem when she was very young and she has lived there since. Her parents, Charles and Golda Hebel, formed the Cherry Bud Band who performed throughout western Oregon during WWI. Anita married Terrence O'Brien in 1941and had three children. She was an avid homemaker and especially loved sewing and crocheting. She is survived by her daughter Sharon Van Woert and son-in-law Jim Van Woert, a son Dennis O'Brien, a daughter-in-law Glenda O'Brien, a sister Birdie Rees, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. A gravesite service will be held at Lee Mission Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 13th. Arrangements by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
