Amelia (Amy) Marie Daniels, 51, passed away Saturday at Salem Hospital from pneumonia after a long struggle with Hepatitis C.  Amelia was born in Salem on July 7th, 1958, to Ray and Mary Daniels.  The youngest of four children, she is survived by her two sisters, Judy Daniels and Linda Spence, her brother Greg Daniels, and her father, Jesse Ray Daniels, all of Salem. She is also survived by her two children, James Adkins of Eugene and Megan Adkins of Portland.  

Amelia attended Sprague High School, class of 1976.  She studied at Academy of Hair Design and worked as a beautician for many years in the Salem area.  She was an active member of the community, and enjoyed volunteering at her children’s schools and local nursing homes.  Amelia also had many hobbies: she enjoyed painting, sewing, reading and the great outdoors. 

Amelia will be remembered as a very loving person, known to go out of her way to spend time with loved ones and to help those in need.  She taught us to hold our judgment, and to love unconditionally.  She was good humored, generous, creative and always true to herself.

As Amelia’s health deteriorated she was faced with many challenges, and although we will miss her very much, we feel she is in better hands now and at last peacefully at rest.

             There will be a celebration potluck at Noon on Saturday, Nov. 7 at West Salem Four Square Church.  Please come to share your memories and your love for Amelia.
