KEIZER – Alex Johnson passed away on June 16 at the age of 99. He was born November 13, 1909 in Dalbo, Minnesota to Louis and Anna (Lund) Johnson.
Alex came west to Klamath Falls, Oregon in 1936 and worked for Algoma Lumber. He married Dora B. Beaber on November 12, 1938 in Klamath Falls. In 1942, they moved to Vancouver, Washington where he built houses for Navy yard workers and Van Port City where he and his family were one of the first families to move in.
In 1944, the family moved back to Dalbo, Minnesota to farm. In 1947, they moved to Turner, Oregon and later Salem where Alex worked for Burklund Lumber. He worked as a timber cruiser and supervisor until his retirement in 1974. Throughout his life, Alex enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and playing the accordion. He was a member of Elks Lodge #336 for over 50 years.
Alex is survived by his wife Dora; daughter Sharon M. (Edmund) Cravinho; grandson Gregory (Kay) Mills; granddaughter Jodi (Jon) Deming; great-grandsons Parker Jonson Deming and Kyler Harrison Mills; and nephew Dennis (Helen) Anderson.

Visitation will be from 12:00 - 8:00 PM Tuesday, June 23 with funeral services at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 24, both at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
